Scanning, Digital Design and placing Orders

  • Do I need a specific scanner?

    We process data from 3shape and Exocad Scanners as standard. If you have another scanner, please contact your ARGEN customer advisor so that the transmission of the scanner data can be set up.

    When uploading, please send us all files belonging to the order, preferably as .zip files.

  • Are different data formats required for the different materials?

    No. No matter if you want to mill digitally or have it produced using the LC process, and no matter which material you choose: The basis for digital production is always your scanner data records, which you upload in the customer area of this website.

  • What has to be considered in Digital Design?

    Please construct as usual. After completing the construction, also check the minimum wall thicknesses, depending on the material selected.

    For bridge constructions, pay particular attention to adequate dimensioning of the connectors, also with a view to possible manual reworking in the laboratory.

  • I'm still precarious about Digital Design. Who can I ask?

  • What happens if my transmitted data still contain construction errors?

    We check all incoming data individually and contact you immediately if there are any problems. No faulty data goes into production.

     

  • Do I have to pay attention to something special when I create an order?

    The basic information (Dentist, patient, type of restoration, tooth selection, material, color, etc.) should be entered exactly and completely in your Scan System.

    After uploading the files, our system automatically guides you through the order menu.

  • Which materials are available?
    • For Digital Milling: Zirconia, PMMA, Wax, Titanium, CoCr 275 and Precious Metal
    • For Laser Cusing (LC): CoCr (Argeloy 280)
    • For Grinding: e.max® CAD

  • Is the material density of the LC process comparable to that of cast NEM?

    Yes, the layer-by-layer melting of CoCr powder by laser produces units with a high material density that are comparable to cast constructions. The LC process can also be used to represent geometries in which casting and milling techniques reach their limits. LC processes are ideal for all constructions made of CoCr and they have the same values as cast objects.

  • In what production level do the works arrive at the laboratory?

    You will receive all LC products polished and sandblasted. Of course, we take care to ensure that the edges and edge designs are not touched during reworking.

    Zirconia delivered sintered. PMMA products polished.

    Abutments (Titanium) arrive machine-treated, Hybrid-Abutments are polished, if necessary sintered and unbonded with attached base and each with definitive screw.

  • How long does the production process take?

    Orders uploaded via the website from Monday to Friday by 12.00 p.m. will be delivered to you by 12.00 a.m. on the next but one working day. You will be informed immediately if there are any discrepancies.

    We ask for your understanding that we have no control over delays in delivery by our shipping service due to weather, traffic conditions or other factors.

  • In which cases is external milling of precious metal rather than cast in your own laboratory worthwhile?

    Digital milling of precious metal at ARGEN is an option for all laboratories that normally rarely use precious metal for dental prostheses or do not want to use dental casting. External manufacturing eliminates the need to pre-finance costly precious metals or maintain a stock of materials, and reduces tool consumption, equipment wear, power and material costs. In addition, there are no longer any casting or process uncertainties in the laboratory that could lead to rejects and necessitate a second operation. Digital milling always yields defined safe wall thicknesses and surfaces as well as low post-processing costs. We guarantee absolute material safety: We only use new metal blanks for milling, batches are not mixed. Of course there are still individual material conditions.

  • How is the shipping process and what does it cost?

    We ship for you free of charge (National) by UPS; the delivery takes place Monday to Friday morning until 12.00 o'clock at the latest.

    You will automatically receive an e-mail from us with the tracking number as soon as we have placed your order. This allows you to find out where the shipment is at any time.

    We do not charge shipping (national) or packaging costs.

  • How's the billing going?

    With every delivery you receive the delivery note with all the data you need for invoicing and for your documents.

    Each month you will receive an invoice on which all orders are listed and summarised in a clear and comprehensible form according to the delivery notes. 

Data Protection

  • Who has access to my data?

    Only ARGEN Dental in Germany has access to the data transferred by you. Not even our American headquarters, the ARGEN Corporation in San Diego. Your data will be transferred only to our digital centre in Düsseldorf, where the entire production takes place without exception. No order will be forwarded to the USA or third parties.

  • Where will my data be stored?

    Your data does not end up in a "cloud", it is on a server stationed in Germany. The high level of data protection under German law applies to all data used.

  • What happens to my data after completion of the order?

    Each order is only stored until it is completed. It is then irretrievably deleted. This also means that we cannot access data that you have uploaded to us for previous orders.

  • What technical security solutions have been implemented?

    We have installed one of the strongest firewalls currently available against possible unwanted attacks by hackers. Of course the website argen-digital.de is encrypted with SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) in the login area. This requires, that laboratories use SSL encryption when sending data. We appeal to all our customers to comply with this security standard in their own interest and in the interest of the patient.
